Farnkraut

Welcome to Farnkraut, the special nursery for winter-hard open land ferns. I am a qualified gardener for perennial plants and I have worked for 20 years at the company Stauden-Junge (a special nursery for shrubs and perennial plants) in Hamelin, Germany. Beside this main activity I have constantly developed my own company existing since 2002.

During my apprenticeship I discovered my passion for ferns; since that time I have dealt professionally with the cultivation of this varied and fascinating plant group in my spare time.

At the moment my collection comprises about 150 different genera, species and cultivars of which already approx. 90 are ready for purchase. A catalogue with the main assortment can be inspected at any time under the website of the nursery Stauden-Junge (www.bluetenblatt.de). Other ferns can be purchased - as far as available - on inquiry.

All ferns from my assortment originate from my own production. I carry out vegetative (e.g. division) as well as the generative increase (spore sowing) in my company. For environment protection reasons I run now attempts with garden earth without peat. My purpose is to work only with renewable raw materials in the future.
